Omega 3-6-9
Essential Fatty Acids are needed to take part in virtually every function of our body. From our mental capacity to our daily energy, governing our growth rate, converting food into fuel for our bodies through oxidation, taking part in hemoglobin production and in damage prevention from the “hard fats”, the list could continue on and on.  Essential Fatty Acids play a direct part in our metabolism as well. The more saturated, hard fats we eat, the slower our metabolism runs, and vice versa.

In short, the Essential Fatty Acids are so named because they are essential to the life of our body. However because the body doesn’t produce these nutrients, we must get them through the food we eat, such as nuts and seeds.
The two familiar grouping names of the Essential Fatty Acids are the Omega-6 EFA’s and the Omega-3 EFA’s. Although both are needed for correct functioning of the body, the ratio over the years has skewed heavily into an excess of Omega-6 EFA’s (the main source in vegetable oils - think “fried foods”) and that can lead to dire consequences. The body is set up to receive them in about a 1:1 ratio, yet our lifestyles today tip the scale to a more 20:1 ratio of Omega-6 EFA over Omega-3 EFA. Over use of the Omega-6 EFA’s can lead to obesity, diabetes, and premature aging, just to name a few problems. Omega-3 EFA’s are those commonly found in things such as flaxseed oil, fatty fish and fish oil. Much study has been done in the work that these Omega-3’s do for the body, specifically in the area of heart health. For example, fish oil has been seen to reduce blood pressure, maintain the “elasticity” of the blood vessels, even stablilize heart rhythms, which is one of the reasons we are encouraged to eat some sort of fatty fish in our diets at least once weekly.

Essential Fatty Acids

Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are the basic building blocks of which fats and oils are composed.  Not all fat is bad for the body.  The body actually needs the right kind of fat.  Essential Fatty Acids must be supplied by the diet, because the body is incapable of generating these fatty acids.   Every living cell in the body needs essential fatty acids.  They are essential for rebuilding and producing new cells.  They aid in the prevention of arthritis, fight cardiovascular disease, and promote normal function of the brain.

Rather than trying to choose between fish oil, flax seed oil, and borage oil as your source for essential fatty acids, why not take a supplement that includes all three?  This insures you are getting all the benefits from the different types of Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids.  No other EFA supplement is as complete as Nutronix International’s Omega 3-6-9.

Flax Seed Oil

Flax seed oil is derived from the seeds of a blue flowering plant that grows in Western Canada. It is one of the richest known sources of omega-3 fatty acids, an essential form of fat that is vital for health. Flax seed oil also contains another essential fatty acid, omega-6. A unique characteristic of flax seed oil is that it contains omega-3 and omega-6 oils in a good ratio for optimum health. While omega-6 oil is essential, it can do more harm than good if consumed in much greater amounts than omega-3, which, unfortunately, is typical of Western diets. Flax seed oil contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in a 2:1 ratio. The omega-3 fatty acids in flax seed oil benefit almost every system of the body. Studies show that omega-3 can help to protect the cardiovascular system from a host of problems, including blood clots, high blood pressure, and high blood fat levels. Aside from being a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, flax seed oil also contains substances known as lignans, which are said to protect against breast, prostate and colon cancer. Lignans also have anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.  Other benefits of flax seed oil include the ability to reduce inflammation and increase recovery from exhaustion after exertion. As an anti-inflammatory agent, flax seed oil can help sprains and bruises heal more quickly.

It is also said to help stimulate weight loss by helping to boost metabolism. Flax seed oil also appears to help the skin. Conditions like dandruff, psoriasis, eczema and dry skin have shown improvement with the use of flax seed oil as a dietary supplement. Another significant function of the omega-3 fatty acids in flax seed oil is that they are known to be essential to brain function and emotional health. Studies have associated low levels of omega-3 oils with higher rates of depression, memory problems and even Alzheimer’s disease. Flax seed oil may help to protect the brain and alleviate symptoms of depression. In addition, as a mood enhancer, flax seed oil may help ease symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.  Flax oil is the best source of omega-3 in the form of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). ALA has been shown to promote heart health, reduces inflammatory conditions and is great for hair, skin and nails.

Borage Oil

Borage oil contains valuable minerals and essential fatty acids need for proper cardiovascular function and health skin function.  The borage plant is one of the richest sources of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), a very imporantant essential fatty acid known to have positive effects on women's health..   Women suffering from Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) have long used Borage Oil because of its very high concentration of GLA.  Our Borage Oil is 100% pure expeller pressed and Hexane Free. It is derived from the seeds of the borage plant, one of the richest known sources of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).  It is guaranteed to be the highest quality available.

Fish Oil

Fish oils, also known as marine oils, are essential fatty acids (lipids) found in fish, particularly cold water fish, and other marine life such as phytoplankton. These oils are rich sources of long-chain  omega-3 fatty acids.
